In British usage the term is neutral, meaning "the sort of person who solves problems and gets things done". Filter this in coffee filter and use it for fixing films. I'm asking since mostly i'm using b&w film for fun and experiments, so repeatability and quality are not important. Even more importantly, the only non-professional film shop is ridiculously overpriced and is out of fixer most of the time.

Hot water is the best because the solution of salt requires heat. When the salt is completely dissolved measure again the volume and complete to 1 liter again. This solution may be used as fixer and, if you use it warm, about 35ºC it will take less than 24 hours but depends also on the film brand and type.
Aceitic acid is a component of acid hardening fixers. In High School we had the chemistry teacher order the chemicals needed for making film and paper developer. While sodium thiosulfate was inexpensive enough it was just easier to buy fixer which was already made up.

Fixing times at 20c are 3 to 5 minutes for film and 2 or 3 minutes for papers In another container, mix 2 oz of fixer with 6 oz of water. Pour this mix into tank and agitate slowly 3 times per minute for seven minutes. In another container, mix water with a few drops of dish soap. Mix slowly to limit bubbles formed. For non-hardening fixer, I have chems for TF-2, off the top of my head, sodium thiosulfate, sodium sulfite, sodium metaborate, water. For hardening fixer, I'm looking at Adam's F6A (on jackspcs.com).

As first use it very concentrated, I putted half a kilo in 500ml solution and stired for a while. It still remains undissolved salt at the bottom, never mind. Filter this in coffee filter and use it for fixing films. I'm asking since mostly i'm using b&w film for fun and experiments, so repeatability and quality are not important. Even more importantly, the only non-professional film shop is ridiculously overpriced and is out of fixer most of the time. Probably, i could figure out, what nasty stuff i could use by researching the chemical process of film fixing.
